Carte de Visite of an infant identified on reverse as Myrtle Dillman. The CDV was made by Mrs. M. A. Cutler, Chariton, Iowa. This CDV was found with a collection of photographs from Iowa. Please use the search function or check the archives, as I am slowly working my way through the collection.
From online research, hopefully correct:
Myrtle Lenora Dillman was born in 1883 in Lucas County, Iowa, the daughter of George Washington Dillman, born in Indiana in 1852, and his wife Charity Emma Cain, born in Iowa in 1862. Myrtle's paternal grandparents were Andrew and Elizabeth Frances (Henderson) Dillman. Her maternal grandparents were Isaac and Elizabeth (Leeper) Cain.
Myrtle married Orval Howard Cottingham, the son of William Madison Cottingham and his wife Martha Isabelle (Vickroy) Cottingham. Orval and Myrtle raised a family of at least three sons in Lucas County, Iowa.
