3 Tintypes of Mixed Groups, likely the Bangor, Maine area
Three more tintypes in the collection purchased at a Bangor, Maine show in 1990. There are about fifty tintypes in all, many showing a family resemblance, many of women, many of men, some of couples, some of children, some of what appear to be family groups and a few showing two or more men. The tintypes shown in this post do not have backings, but I've included scans of two that do, to show the Bangor, Maine connection.
Check this blog's archives for November 2010 for more tintypes from this collection. Search for titles with the wording "likely Bangor Maine area" included.
These three tintypes show mixed groups of men and women. The tintype above shows what I think is a family, perhaps of three generations.
The tintype below shows what appears to be a mother and her two children.
The tintype below shows a couple.
There were only two tintypes in the entire collection (neither of them on any of the three pictured above) that had photographer identification, both from Bangor, Maine. One studio was that of J. P. Merrill.
The other was that of A. B. Farrar.
