Four more tintypes in the collection of about fifty purchased at a Bangor, Maine show in 1990. See my previous post on tintypes of 3 women. . The tintypes feature women, men, couples, and children, with many people showing a family resemblance. I'm working my way through the tintypes of women first; check the blog archives for similar posts in November of 2010.
This post concerns four tintypes of two different women, taken on the same day, I believe. Many of the other tintypes which I haven't yet discussed also show a tapestry, a prop, I assume, that was meant to convey gentility.
Below are two views of the other woman.
Even though there is writing on the back of the tintype above, it is that of the photographer, and there are no clues as to who the photographer was or where the studio was located.
Thanks for stopping by!
