Tintypes of 5 Older Men, likely Bangor, Maine area

Five more tintypes in the collection purchased at a Bangor, Maine show in 1990.   There are about fifty tintypes in all, many showing a family resemblance, many of women, many of men, some of couples, some of children, some of what appear to be family groups and a few showing two or more men.  The tintypes shown in this post do not have backings, but I've included scans of two that do, to show the Bangor, Maine connection.

Check this blog's archives for November 2010 for more tintypes from this collection.  Search for titles with the wording "likely Bangor Maine area" included.

The group in this particular post consists of the five older gentlemen in the collection.  Notice that one of them was probably a couples or group photo cut vertically so that only the man at the right edge is left.

Here are the only two backings in the entire collection, each showing a different Bangor, Maine studio.  They were on the backs of two tintypes of women shown in an earlier post.  One is J. P. Merrill; the other A. B. Farrar.

If you recognize any of the men pictured above from your family albums, please leave a comment in the comments box or contact me directly.
