1880s Autograph of Annie Bryant of Union, Maine

1880s autograph album of Annie Bryant of Union, Maine.

At first blush, I thought she was Annie J. Bryant, but I found several records for an Annie I. Bryant, and one that indicated her formal name was Analostine I. Bryant.

The album is approximately 5-1/2" x 3-1/4" and contains 22 autographs of relatives and friends.

From clues in the album, I believe the album's owner was the Annie Bryant born about December 1856 in Union, Maine, to Joseph and Irene Vose (Sumner) Bryant, born in Union and Warren, Maine, respectively.

This Annie's paternal grandparents were Joseph and Nancy (Sibley) Bryant.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles and Nancy (Coggan) Sumner.

Annie married Frank C. Flint in 1892; they lived at Rockland, Maine, and raised at least one child, a son Carl.

If you have an alternative to the owner of the album or corrections to any of the information provided here, please leave a comment or contact me directly.

The Joseph Bryant who signed a page in Annie's album in 1881 was probably her father, as I believe her grandfather  of the same name had died by the 1880s.

There's a page signed by a Nancy Bryant in Mach of 1882, who may have been the elder Joseph's widow, Nancy (Sibley) Bryant.  If this page was signed by Nancy (Sibley) Bryant, she died later that  year, according to what I found online, although I didn't see her actual death record.

Annie's two brothers signed pages in her album.  C. R. Bryant, who was most likely Charles Ralph Bryant, who signed in 1882:

And her brother Jeffery Wilford Bryant of Union, who also signed in 1882:

Other people named Bryant signed pages.  Nellie J. Bryant of Washington, Maine:

O. S. Bryant of Union, Maine, signed a page in 1882:

Samuel Bryant, who may have been Annie's paternal uncle, signed a page in 1882:

From Annie's maternal line, her cousins Helen Augusta Sumner and Jennie Caro Sumner signed pages.  Their father was Annie's maternal uncle Charles Judson Sumner, who married Harriet Thompson Newbert.  Harriet also signed a page.

Annie's cousin Helen Augusta Sumner of Hallowell, Maine, signed a page in 1882:

Annie's cousin Jennie Caro Sumner of Hallowell, Maine, signed a page in 1883:

Helen and Jennie's mother, Annie's aunt by marriage, Harriet Thompson (Newbert) Sumner of Hallowell signed a page in 1883:

Abbie E. Burgess of Union, Maine, who called herself Annie's cousin, signed a page in 1882:
