1904 Photograph of John T. Mathews of Tenants Harbor, Maine, taken while he was a student at Hebron Academy at Hebron, Maine, perhaps a graduation photo. The photograph was taken by the Harry Plummer Studio at the Journal Building, Lewiston, Maine.
From online research, hopefully correct:
John Tracy Mathews was born 9 October 1884 at Tenants Harbor, Maine, the son of Walter Herbert Mathews and wife Indora Frank (Tracy) Mathews, born in Gardiner, Maine, and St. George, Maine, respectively.
His paternal grandparents were George P. and Harriet (Atkinson) Mathews. His maternal grandparents were John and Hannah (Hart) Tracy.
After graduating from Hebron Academy, John Tracy Mathews attended Colby College. After graduating from there, he moved to Massachusetts, first to work at Staples Coal Company in Boston and then to work in real estate and insurance across the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
On 10 July 1911 in Massachusetts John Tracy Mathews married Florence B. Pratt. She was born 19 March 1885 at Weymouth, Massachusetts, the daughter of Elmer Ellsworth Pratt and wife Clara L. (Bradley) Pratt, born in Cohasset, Massachusetts, and Naugatuck, Connecticut, respectively.
The 1920 Census of Cambridge found the couple living with their young daughter. By the time of the 1930 Census, the family had moved to Belmont, Massachusetts. They were listed with still the one child, the daughter.
