1913 Photograph of Tourists at Washington, D.C., partially IDed

Enlargement of a photograph taken in 1913 of a group on a tour of Washington, D. C.   Approximately 8" x 10", plus a thin border.

There are a few first names but no surnames to help identify the people.  The names: Uncle Robert; Aunt Lucie; Esther; Margaret

Text on reverse:

1913.  A winter morning in Washington, D.C..  Starting a tour of the city.  This is on Penn. Ave., where there were a lot of Chinese storekeepers ? along the avenue.  illicit business going on.  Stopping at the Willard Hotel.

The tone makes me wince, especially knowing the story of a friend's half Chinese/half Maritime grandfather, born in 1907 in Boston, who had a very rough go.

If you have a comment about the setting, the automobile or a theory  about the identities of Uncle Robert, Aunt Lucie and nieces Esther and Margaret, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
