1905 Memorial Card: Esther J. (Lancaster) Chase of Lincoln, Maine

Memorial card printed on the occasion of the death of Esther J. Chase of Lincoln, Maine.  Esther J. Chase, Wife of Lorenzo Chase, Died Sept. 11, 1905, Aged 54 y, 7 m, 18 d.

From brief online research, hopefully correct: [corrections and additions welcome!]

Esther J. (Lancaster) Chase was born January 26, 1851 at Enfield, Maine, daughter of John L. and Rebecca (Hodgdon) Lancaster, who were born at Orono, Maine, and Kenduskeag, Maine, respectively.

On March 25, 1872 at Lincoln Center, Maine, Esther married Lorenzo Cyrus Chase, son of Cyrus Hamlin Chase and Harriet (Bailey) Chase, born at Woodstock, Maine, and possibly Lincoln, or Bangor, Maine, respectively.

Cyrus Hamlin Chase was the son of Stephen Chase, who became the first preacher in Lincoln, Maine, and later served in the Legislature. He was born at Newbury, Massachusetts, moved to Woodstock, Maine, where his children were born and where he was an influential citizen, and later moved to Lincoln, Maine in 1825.

Lorenzo Cyrus Chase died September 17, 1912 at Lincoln, Maine.

If you have corrections and/or additions to the information above, please leave a comment or contact me directly.

See another post which features the memorial card of Mertie Emma Chase of Atkinson, Maine, who died of consumption on 25 December 1895 at Milo, Maine. I didn't find a close relationship between Mertie's father Albert H. Chase and Esther's husband Lorenzo Cyrus Chase.
