Cabinet Photograph of Amanda M. Wilson, Preceptress at East Maine Conference Seminary at Bucksport, Maine

Cabinet photograph of a woman identified on the reverse as Amanda M. Wilson, Preceptress of E. M. C. S., which was the East Maine Conference Seminary at Bucksport, Maine, a Methodist institution.

From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections welcome!]

Amanda M. Wilson was born 26 September 1842 in Maine, the daughter of John H. Wilson and Rachael Rider (Kingsbury) Wilson, who were born at Thomaston, Maine, and Brewer, Maine [according to her death record], respectively.

Apparently Amanda devoted her life to teaching and never married.  She was made preceptress of the East Maine Conference Seminary in 1881.

See an 1886 graduation program of the East Maine Conference Seminary here.  The administration and faculty aren't mentioned.

I found Amanda in her late 80s in the 1930 Census of Bangor, Maine.  She died 11 November 1938 and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery at Bangor.
