Late 19th Century Photograph taken by a Sorel, Quebec studio of Eugene Trembley
This photograph dates, I believe, to the late 19th century. The handsome young man is identified on the reverse as Eugene Trembley. The photograph was taken by the Gaudrault studio of Sorel, Quebec.
I didn't find a Eugene Trembley at Sorel, Quebec, but he may have lived in an area town. If you recognize his photograph from your family albums or his name from family research, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
Now here is a possible clue - or a red herring. In the seemingly unrelated collection of photographs bought at the same antique shop was a photograph of Bertrand E. Levesque, born 24 September 1906 at Fall River, Massachusetts. His mother's maiden name was Alma Tremblay; she was born in Canada.
Just in case there is a connection, see the post that features the photograph of Bertrand E. Levesque. I wasn't able to find much on his parents, Philippe and Alma (Tremblay) Levesque, either.
If you recognize Eugene Trembley from your family albums or research, please leave a comment or contact me directly. Thanks!
