Photograph of Cora H. Small of Boston, Massachusetts; photograph taken by the Tuttle & Son studio of Green's Landing, Maine - Stonington

Cabinet photograph of a woman identified on the reverse as Cora H. Small of Boston, Massachusetts.

The photograph was taken by the studio of W. C. Tuttle & Son of Green's Landing, Maine.  Green's Landing became the town of Stonington, Maine, in 1897.

Cora may have been Cora Henrietta Davis Small, who moved to Massachusetts.  In the 1900 Federal Census of Beverly, Massachusetts, she was listed as a servant in the household of Edward Jackson.

From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections welcome!]

Cora Henrietta Davis Small was born 23 August 1863 at Deer Isle, Maine, the daughter of Benjamin and Lucy Theresa (Jordan) Small.

On 8 December 1907 at Boston, Massachusetts, Cora married Ernest Whitney, son of Thomas Robert Whitney and Emeline (Wyman) Whitney.  Ernest was born about 1862, likely at Farmingdale, Maine.

The couple lived at Medford, Massachusetts, where Ernest worked in sales and as a chauffeur for an express company.  I don't believe they had any children together.

If you have corrections and/or additions to the information above, or if you feel that the woman in the photograph is a different Cora H. Small, please leave a comment or contact me directly.  Thanks!
