Family Photograph of William and Elvira Trask & Children Herbert & Bertha of Vermont & New Hampshire

Family photograph of William D. and Elvira Dorothy (Frizzell) Trask and their children Herbert Trask and Bertha (Trask) Richardson of Bath, New Hampshire, and later Canaan, Vermont.

The photograph was taken by the Hill studio of Lancaster, New Hampshire.

From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections and additions welcome!]

William D. Trask was born 10 January 1834 at Brookfield, Vermont, son of William and Sarah M. (Clark) Trask, who were born at Beverly, Massachusetts, and Hartford, Vermont, respectively.

William's future wife, Elvira Dorothy (Frizzell) Trask, was born 11 August 1843 at Canaan, Vermont, daughter of Amasa and Dorothy (Gamsby) Frizzell, who were born at Leyden, Massachusetts, and North Stratford, New Hampshire, respectively and married at Eaton, Quebec.

I believe it was this William D. Trask who had served in the Civil War.  William and Elvira married about 1867.

After their marriage, they lived at Bath, New Hampshire, where they were enumerated in the 1870 Census, along with their young daughter Bertha, who was born in February of that year.

Son Herbert Ivan Trask was born 2 November 1873 at Bath, New Hampshire.  I found conflicting years of his birth, but he indicated 1873 on his World War I draft registration card.

Bertha married Fred Russell Richardson at Colebrook, New Hampshire, on 3 December 1884.   He was born 5 September 1857 at Columbia, New Hampshire, son of William Russell Richardson and Augusta Caroline (Dimick) Richardson.  Fred died very soon after the marriage, on 3 February 1885.

By 1900 the Trask family, including widow Bertha (Trask) Richardson, had moved to a farm at Canaan, Vermont where it appears that they all lived out their lives.  William D. Trask died in 1915.  Elvira D. (Frizzell) Trask died in 1938.  Herbert Ivan Trask died in 1943.  Bertha died in 1945.

I don't believe that Bertha had any children with husband Fred.  And it appears that Herbert did not marry.
