1880s Autograph Album with Signers from Sing Sing, New York, and Cold Spring, New York

1880s autograph album that contains 11 pages signed by people from, or at, Sing Sing, New York, and Cold Spring, New York.  There's no clue as to the owner.

The album was found with an earlier one that was presented to Miss Abbie J. Haight by her future husband, Isaac Rhodes Lounsberry, but I don't know if there was an actual connection between the albums or if they found their way together later on.

The album is a large one, about 8-1/2" x 7", with only eleven signed pages.  An alphabetical list of the signers appears at the end of this post.

The first page was signed by someone whose initials are hard to decipher, but possibly H. E. Scripture, signed at Sing Sing, New York, on April 30, 1883.  There was a Harry E. Scripture in the area during that time frame.

Brothers Wilbur J. Chadeayne and Jacob Chadeayne of Sing Sing, New York, also signed pages on April 30, 1883.

Annie C. Post signed her page at Sing Sing, New York, on June 28, 1881.

B. W. T. Amsden signed a page at Sing Sing, New York, on "5/1/83".  He may have been Benjamin W. T. Amsden.

The name of the signer below is hard to read; it's possibly W. W. Washburne, who signed on May 1, 1883.

James A. Hart of Sing Sing, New York, signed a page on May 1, 1883.

Minnie Terhune of Sing Sing, New York, signed a page on May 1, 1883.

Purdy A. Auser of Sing Sing, New York, signed a page on May 1, 1883.  He was likely Purdy Anderson Auser II.

Frances A. Ryer of Cold Spring, New York, signed a page on May 1, 1883.  She would later marry William Terhune and live at Sing Sing, New York.

R. Terhune of Sing Sing, New York, signed a page on May 1, 1883.

Surnames in the Album:
