Wood, my great-grandfather, continued the business, eventually passing it on to the last owner, my grandfather, Arthur Brooks Wood. In 1877, the company was located at the corner of Fore and Plum Streets in Portland. Later, they were in business at 428 Fore Street. After the business failed, E. Klaman had a bottle shop at the same location. Today, it is possible to purchase bottles and labels on sites such as e-Bay. Nathan Wood began his business in about 1843--as N. Wood. Nathan was born in 1812 in Concord, MA, grandson of the Revolutionary War patriot Ephriam Wood, Jr. He died in Portland in 1887.Deb Mansfieldnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7470217109659177851.post-63142719933159749692013-10-15T05:15:00.553-07:002013-10-15T05:15:00.553-07:00The list of items is so extensive and interesting!...The list of items is so extensive and interesting!Pam Beveridgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06272409581983333836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7470217109659177851.post-13665889435730382722013-10-15T03:48:33.491-07:002013-10-15T03:48:33.491-07:00Love your workxxxxxxxLove your workxxxxxxxNancy Leathemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00993094186356414746noreply@blogger.com
